This book was touted as the next 50 Shades of Grey from a lot of people, so I thought I'd give it a go. I liked 50, didn't think it was the best book in the world, but it was entertaining. I think this book is better. Now, I still didn't absolutely love it, but the writing was much better than 50 and I enjoyed the characterization better. This story reminded me of a high school relationship I had where we would get together, have some dramatic break up and then another dramatic makeup, followed by another break up and the cycle would continue. Seriously, that is the exact sequence of events that happen in this book, but for some reason (maybe because I long for the intensity of that strange relationship?) it worked for me and I enjoyed the story. I will definitely pick up the next bok in this series, as this one left me wondering all night long about the secrets in Gideon's past. Easy 4 stars.
